Mission To get involved inmaking decisions on challengingissues of forestry of Mongolia, to enhancestudent’s knowledge and skills of profession,to raise student’s interest intoscientific works, to intermediate graduatedstudents to professional jobs, tobecome a member of the International ForestryStudent’s Association (IFSA) andcontact with similar organizations in abroadand make cooperation with them Aboutorganization The Mongolian ForestryStudent’s Association(MFSA) is a membership-based, a non-profit and anon-governmental organization,which was established in March 10, 2006 with theinitiatives of B.Oyunsanaa,S.Byambagereland teachers of the ForestryDepartment of the National University of Mongolia. The Mongolian ForestryStudent’s Associationhas own rules and conducts its activities within therules. The Association hasthe governing units; managing board, revisingcommittee, leader, vice leaderand secretary. These positions are elected onceper two years among itsmembers. Currently, N.Biligbaatar is working as aleader, B.Ser-Oddamba is as avice leader and Ch.Ankhchimeg is a Secretary ofthe organization. 
The Association runs itsactivities in allforestry sectors of Mongolia and cooperating with thegovernmental andnon-governmental organizations to solve the current challengingissues onforestry sector. All the activities of the association are aimed toincreaseefficiency of the members and for empowerment. Membership Today, we have over140 membersincluding five universities andinstitutes such as the National University of Mongolia,the University ofAgriculture of Mongolia, the MongolianUniversityof Science and Technology, Ulaanbaatar Institute and EnvironmentalEco-AsiaInstitute that conduct training on forestry and also the graduated students of profession offorestry. Each year, theorganization runs the following activities. 1. First Forestry websitein Mongolia. Since 2008, we have been launchingnot only the Mongolian ForestryStudent’s Association website, also forestrywebsite of Mongolia. This websiteincludes detailed introduction of ourassociation and information on forestrysector of Mongolia.

3. “FOREST FUTURE” competition. We have already organized the cup-winner competitions of the association,named as “FOREST FUTURE-2008” and“FOREST FUTURE-2010”. In thesecompetitions,there were total 78 students of 12 teams of 5 universities andinstitutescompeting for their knowledge and skills. The participants can provetheirknowledge on profession, laws and legislations and rules on forestry. .jpg)
4. “Healthy forester”sports friendship competition. Every year weorganize basketball and volleyballfriendship competition, “Healthy forester” amongstudents of universities andinstitutes and the graduatedmembers. We have beenorganized this competition for three years andtotal 23 teams participated. .jpg)
5. Profession Day. Each year our Associationorganizes a Profession Day for new students whoare entering universities and institutes. Wepresent the school introductions duringthe day and organize exhibition forbooks. 6. “Forest future is from us” serial talks. We invite forestry scholarsto give lecture and talktheir interesting biosand histories, also their profession. By these talks, weprovide opportunity toknow more about historical knowledge of forestry ofMongolia. Untiltoday we have invited 5 scholarsand total 243 people participated. 7. “Green Mongolia” tree planting days. We are participatinginactivities to restorenature and tocreate green environment in urban areas. We have planted 3000trees within thecampaign of “Green world” by the UN in 2008, 500 trees withinthe action on“Protect Tuul river” in 2009 and 300 woody plants in greenconstruction ofUlaanbaatar city in 2010. Besides planting trees, we provide peopleinstructionshow to plant tree and how to take care of it. In 2009, we publishedhandbook for treeplanters and distributed them free of charge. 8. Let us plant a treetogether. Three radio programson ”Let us plant a tree together” appealing allpeople to plant tree were prepared and broadcasted by radio FM 105.5.
